My name is Tiago, I’m natural of Pico Island, Azores. I moved to Lisbon to study when I was 18 years old. I have a degree in Cell Biology and Biotechnology, and I worked for the last five years supporting and developing Laboratory Information Management Systems.
What is your role at ALTEN?
I have started working at ALTEN in January and I’m currently working with a Computerized Quality Assurance team in chromatography software, so the laboratory methods are correctly configured correctly and ready to work.
Why did you choose our company to work?
I chose ALTEN because they gave me the opportunity to be part of an ambitious project, to learn and to challenge myself.
Tiago, what do you think is the most important technological challenge nowadays?
Nowadays we are at a crossing point where our lives depend on technology. With the new technologies, ethics are being developed every day and legislators are not being able to keep up. It will be interesting to see how this rift will turn out.
What are the things you value the most at work?
I value good work ethics, integrity and teamwork.
What are your greatest strengths?
I believe my greatest strength is a mix of knowledge and imagination. If you have the necessary tools and you know where you want to go, nothing can stop you from achieving your goal. If you don’t have these tools, invent them, create them or just develop them.
Tell us more about you. Do you have any hobbies or talents?
I have an aquarium with tropical fishes and lots of plants around the house. You can say they help when I’m homesick.
How would you enjoy a day-off?
When it’s raining, I like to enjoy a good TV show, or a movie are my go-to. But if the weather is good, I like to take a stroll around the city or go somewhere green.
What goals do you want to achieve in a short time?
Keep growing professionally and personally. To learn more about Science and Programing are some of my goals.
