Responsibilities:

• Optimize and fine-tune PostgreSQL database performance to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Collaborate with development teams to write and optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and data models for maximum performance.
• Implement and maintain database replication, clustering, and high-availability configurations for PostgreSQL.
• Design and apply effective indexing strategies to improve query performance while managing storage requirements.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across databases, queries, and infrastructure components.
• Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL databases.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong expertise in SQL and PostgreSQL internals, including indexing, query planning, and execution.
• Experience with PostgreSQL performance tools like EXPLAIN, pg_stat_statements, pgBadger, and other diagnostic utilities.
• Proven ability to optimize complex SQL queries, improve indexing strategies, and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or similar for automation and monitoring tasks are a plus!
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
