Meet Daniel, he is a Software Engineer at ALTEN Portugal. He thinks that by choosing this company to work at, will open lots of doors in the world of Engineering, in particular in the Automotive sector. Welcome home!

I am Daniel, I’m 23 years old and I come from Maia, Porto. My background is in Electronic and Computer Engineering, with a master’s degree at ISEP (Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto). During my last year of study, I was at the Research Center CISTER to develop my thesis regarding Autonomous Driving. This was my first contact with the automotive industry, which immediately captivated my interest in this field.

What is your role at ALTEN?

I started working at ALTEN on February as a Software Engineer, which consists of developing, implementing and testing software for the automotive project ALTEN is involved in.

Why did you choose our company to work?

I choose ALTEN not only for the dimension of the company but especially for the number of doors it opens in the world of Engineering, in particular in the Automotive sector.

What do you think is the most important technological challenge nowadays?

In my opinion, in a market as competitive as the Automotive Industry, the most important technological challenge nowadays is to be at the vanguard of it, by delivering the best possible product, ensuring all aspects of safety, while fulfilling every customer/client requirement.

What are the things you value the most at work?

The fact that everyone is ready to help each other and the flexibility the job offers.

What are your greatest strengths?

I’d say my creativity and the will to help everyone, independent of the topic. Those would be my greatest strengths, which I think perfectly fit in the spirit of the team.

Tell us more about you, Daniel. Do you have any hobbies or talents?

Besides painting, that is one of my favourite hobbies since I was young, I always liked to figure out how things work, as well as fixing them when they broke. So, even now, whenever a gadget is broken, I try to repair it.

How would you enjoy a day-off?

I like spending time with my girlfriend and friends, I enjoy playing video and board games, doing some exercise both at the gym or outdoors… Moreover, when I’m in the mood, I like to release my creativity by painting.

What goals do you want to achieve in a short time?

In a short time, my goals are to learn and grow as much as I can in terms of professional standards.

Other comments about you…

Finally, from the short time I’ve been at ALTEN, my perspectives have been surpassed and I’m looking forward to giving my contribution to the team.
